Pros: Easy to use and easy to setup.
Cons: Frequent dead battery. Poor noise reduction. Does not last too long.
The Bottom Line: This phone is not worth buying because it did not last us too long and gave us frequent problems.

| spike8812's Full Review: GE 900MHz Phone (2-6990GE3) |
We purchased our "FIRST" GE cordless phone w/digital answering machine in either 1998 or 1999. And it seemed like a pretty reliable phone at first. But we noticed that even after the phone was charged up for about 3 days, which is more than enough time to let it charge, it would die after leaving it off the charger for 1 day. Also, it was supposed to have good noise reduction, but whenever I would talk on the phone, the person I was talking to could hear every single noise at my house. And the phone did not have a clear reception, I could always hear static when I was talking on the phone. And it wasn't our phone line because all the other phones in my house have a clear reception. After having the phone for about a maximum of 3 months, it would just stop working. Whenever you turned the phone on it would just beep and shut off. And even when we replaced the battery it still did the same thing. But the answering machine still worked, but the cordless phone did not. We went through 5 of these phones and each one did the same exact thing after about 3 months. Now we have a Uniden 900 mhz Cordless Phone w/digital answering machine and an integrated caller ID. And we have a Vtech 900mhz cordless phone. And both cordless phones work great. I would not recommend the GE 900 mhz cordless phone w/digital answering machine because it is a very unreliable phone and it is definitely not worth buying.
