| CougarMN's Full Review: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault For Windows |
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is the 3rd or 4th (I can't remember which) in a series of very good games. The first two were for the PlayStation although I've only played the original and this one.
Allied Assault is one of the best FPS games out there, I've played almost every well-known FPS out there and I like this one the best.
What does Allied Assault give you? Great graphics! If you've never played this game, you should see the detail on everything from plants to player models to the maps and weapons, it's great.
The sound is top notch too, it sounds very clear and there aren't any "out of place" sounds, players can yell at each other in game and it sounds great.
The variety of weapons is pretty standard. You have two sides and one weapon for each of the following categories of weapon: Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Sub-Machine Gun, Machine Gun, Shotgun and Rocket Launcher. Each weapon looks very nice and isn't "overpowered" or underpowered (except for the Rocket Launcher, but that's an explosive anyway).
The storyline is based on real events that happened in Europe during the war.
Online-Gameplay is top notch. There are a variety of games and a lot of maps! (Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Objective-Based Match, and Round-Based match). Each has a variety of maps built to suit a variety of weapons. (Like Crossroads is a great sniping map and Southern France is a great machine gun and sniping map).
If you are looking for a new first-person shooter to buy, this my friend, IS THE ONE!
