As a result of this merger, the old Careerbuilder site is gone. The site they chose to keep online is Headhunter. If you type CareerBuilder.com in your browser, you will be directed to the Headhunter page. For the most part, see my review on Headhunter for complete info as little has changed. http://www.epinions.com/content_56221404804
There are a few things that make the new Headhunter/Careerbuilder site less easy to navigate. Before, you could see and access any of your 5 search agents on your personal page. Now the searches are hidden. You have to click on My Searches on the left menu or Searches (edit) to the right, then run each one to see if there are any matches. This is a little inconvenient. Fortunately, you can set up your agents to automatically run at intervals you want. It give you a few listings and provides a link directly to the run agent.
Also, since the "merger", I have not been able to find the listings posted in my local newspaper. They used to be listed on the searches for the old Careerbuilder. Unfortunately, Careerbuilder has outgrown their britches. This may actually make it harder for you to find a job. With Headhunter and Careerbuilder merging their millions of seekers and employers, I doubt it will continue to be a viable resource. I'll continue to keep resumes posted "just in case"
They made deals with many national newspapers. When I go to my local newspaper, I am directed to Careerbuilder. I can no longer see only the listing of the newspaper...FROM the paper. I don't feel that this is the best idea either.
As before, they do actually have a toll free number you can call if you need assistance. I'm not sure what they can offer however.
