Bed Bath and Beyond has always been one of my favorite stores to visit, window shop, and purchase products for myself, or of course make gift purchases. In particular, I love Bed Bath and Beyond for wedding gifts. I needed to purchase a present for my son and daughter-in-law in Northern California (I'm in Southern California) and of course I procrastinated).
I was very pleased to find that they had a website available, and it is quite impressive! The background is a royal blue (one of my favorite colors). The site is very well organized, aesthetically appealing, and easily navigated. The available products are of sufficient size to view them easily and to ascertain the detail. There are tabs across the top for Shopping Online, Bridal & Gift Registry, and Service and Beyond.
The menu on the left lists:
* Bedding
* Bath
* Kitchen
* Dining
* Home Decor
* Electronics
* Seasonal
These menu options also can be accessed further by rolling your mouse over the various departments and then you will be able to access their sub-departments. For instance, if you click on the bedding link, you will also find bed in a bag or comforters, etc. Or if you find the option irritating or unnecessary you can turn their menu option off. I found it easy to use and helpful.
Search Options:
Bed Bath & Beyond has an effective search option. I input towels and the site immediately brought numerous "towel options" to my attention.
You will find that it allows you to further define your search. I also imput toasters, and it asked me what color I would like, and it asked what price range, and gave me five selections of price ranges. You can of course just ask for all of the toasters or other products.
Which Brands Do They Carry:
There are way too many to name, probably any brand you could think of, but to name a handful, they carry Oneida, Calphalon, All-Clad, Mikasa, Jessica McClintock, Hoover, Dirt Devil, Cuisinart, and now carry Russell Wright 1950's Classic dinnerware.
Making A Purchase:
If you find something you would like to purchase, first of all you may read more details, to ensure your choice is what you would like, then you merely click on "add to cart". You've decided you don't care for that item? Okay, you can then click on "related items" and perhaps find something you prefer.
Gift Cards as indicated on the site:
As I had procrastinated in buying the kids wedding gift, and frankly wasn't quite sure what they needed, I decided to buy a gift card for them. You can do so in the following amounts: $25. $50., $100., or $200. Bed Bath and Beyond will ship gift cards (and only gift cards) using their expedited service for a flat fee of $5.00. The gift cards are redeemable for cash, never expire, and may be used for online ordering or in the store.
My Experience:
I had a lot of fun on the Bed Bath and Beyond site. They have so much, and I found the website very easy to navigate. The only problem is getting carried away and wanting everything. Their prices are average other than clearance items, and I found the selection was comparable to or more than what is offered at the store closest to my home. I ordered the gift card, and it was received at exactly the time promised by the website.
Shipping and Delivery from the site:
You may have your purchases shipped one of three ways, Standard (starting at $5.95 depending on weight of the product)expedited (starting at $18.95 depending on weight) or Express (starting at $37.95). You can expect to receive your order in 3-8 business days if you have it sent Standard. Expedited shipping you will receive in 2-3 business days, and Express you can expect in 1-2 business days.
2nd Day Air, Int'l Air, Next Day Air, Standard & Standard Ground (listed by epinions)
Customer Service:
I did not have any problems with the site or the order, so had no need to contact Customer Service, however they state that they are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and what more could anyone ask for?
After placing my order, I immediately received an email confirmation; when they shipped the giftcard I received notice of that.
Payment Options from the site:
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX
Returns:
They make returns a snap. The website says that you may return your purchase for a refund, exchange or merchandise credit.
Store Locator:
If you would prefer prefer viewing the website but making your purchase at the actual store, you can find the one located closest to you by inputting your zip code, or address. It will offer you several locations, provide a map or door-to-door directions. I personally don't "do maps", so I really appreciate the door-to-door directions.
Final Thoughts:
I love this website and plan on aiming my mouse in that direction whenever I need gifts or need some items for my bath, kitchen, home decor, or even kid's items. And of course their gift cards are always a viable option.
If I had to come up with one thing I don't like about the website it would be that the sub-menus are a little too sensitive, and you might end up checking out an item you weren't interested in and having to go back. Overall, I recommend the website highly and give them 4 stars. So, whether you are a bride who would like to set up your registry, need items for your home, or gifts, don't lose out, check out Bed Bath and Beyond! You won't be sorry.
Thanks for reading as always!
