Memolink used to be quite a contender for my point earning obsession, but they have steadily disappointed me.
After recently logging in, I found all my points gone. Then I checked my account to see what happened, and noticed a prize that had been ordered a year ago and never shipped.
I wrote to the company, and their response was a long letter about their battle with the bad Internet economy and that they have lost over a million dollars in revenue so far. So their solution? - punish their longtime loyal customers by making them wait six months to a year for any prize ordered, but fill all new customer orders in 4 - 6 weeks. Also, if you don't log in at least every 60 days they erase your points.
Also, Memolink got off to a good start with decent point earning opportunities, but those have also trickled off to be replaced with more work and less points.
So the bottomline is this- only invest your time in Memolink if you plan to keep with it, but don't be surprised if you never get your prize!
Update: 10/25/02
They eventually did come through on that prize many many months later. And now the prizes are filled on time. They do have some good point earning opportunities, but their "memo mail" points pale in comparison to the "my points" mail. The average 2 points a click, while "my points" gives you 5 to 10. And the 1 point you can earn at memolink for checking out a website is hardly worth the effort. Your best bet here is to try out programs or shop, then your points will add up quicker.
