Cons:Contracts are at best, misleading.
The Bottom Line: Go with another provider who will not limit your choices by automatic contract renewals.

I will never again use SunCom or recommend them to anyone, due to the following:
In October, 2000, I agreed to a one year contract for cellular service with SunCom. In April, 2002, I contacted SunCom to cancel my contract, since I am unhappy with the service area.
I did not expect a problem, since I had fulfilled my one-year service agreement in October 2001. SunCom told me that my contract had automatically renewed for another year in October 2001, and I was unable to cancel the service before October 2002 without incurring a $200 early termination fee.
I immediately reviewed my contract and reported the following wording to SunCom: Page 13 of contract: "After the fixed term expires, this Agreement will continue from year to year until terminated by either party with up to 60 days advance notice, as specified in your service plan". Page 18 of contract: "This Agreement represents the entire
agreement between you and us, which may only be amended as described in this agreement."
I understood the wording of this statement to indicate that I could, with 60 days notice, cancel my service after my one-year initial contract. I did not interpret this to mean that I was automatically locked into another one-year contract, nor was I informed of this possibility when I originally agreed to the initial one-year contract.
SunCom automatically renewed my contract for a second full year without my consent or knowledge and then referred me to misleading wording in their contract to support their questionable business practices. I believe that SunCom is intentionally limiting my right to change wireless providers. I also believe that SunCom deliberately
words their contracts to mislead customers about their renewal policy. I know of no other wireless provider who automatically renews customers for annual contracts without the customer's knowledge, consent, or signature. With the assistance of the Better Business Bureau, I am trying to have my contract with SunCom terminated immediately, without any early termination fees.
