The Bottom Line: Please stay away from this company regardless of what they offer you. Believe me, it's not worth it!

MCI moved a booth into my office building and they had a great plan for our employees. I called someone that I knew that worked for AT&T and he told me to stay away from MCI because they had a lot of customer service complaints. My response was, well what will I really need customer service for? I never needed to call customer service with my other cellular plans (different company). The price is great, I think I'll go for it.
The nightmare started about 4 mos. into the contract. Since I hadn't received a bill yet, I called customer service. After a very long wait, over an hour, I reached someone who told me that they were having billing problems and were trying to get caught up. A month or so later, I received a bill for 2 mos. Unfortunately, it was not an itemized bill, just a total. But we paid it. Then a couple of weeks later, we received another bill, again NOT itemized, paid that too. Then we didn't receive any bills for months again. I called to complain almost every month and told them that I didn't want this situation to mess up my credit history. I was told that they understood that they were billing their customers for several months at a time and that they would give us ample time to pay it off. I asked if I could talk to a supervisor and was told that there was no supervisor. I then asked the person on the phone for their name and they would only give me their first name. He said he didn't give his last name out to anyone. I have never dealt with a company that was less interested in keeping their customers satisfied.
We did continue to get letters saying that the bills were on their way. Finally near the end of the contract, I lost my cell phone while out of town (really!). I called them right away so that they could stop my account to prevent someone from using the phone. They would not close my account until I called them back with a police report number.
Right after they closed my account, I got a call from a collection agency telling me that I owed money to MCI. It was amazing how quickly they could ask for money once my account was closed. I paid the collection agency the money they said I owed and was told that my credit history would not be affected. I then got a call from MCI a few weeks later telling me that I owed more money. The problem with all of this is that I haven't gotten a bill for months and have never gotten an itemized bill at all. I keep paying because I just want to be done with MCI! Anyway, the saga continues.
Please take some advice and stay away from MCI. I can't say enough about how I regret my decision to take the cheaper deal!
