| samantha88's Full Review: Compaq Presario 1700-XL275 |
I bought one of these presario's a couple of years ago when I started college and I can honestly say that it has survived well considering what I have put it through. I initially chose the presario because I was on the typical college student budget and this was the best mix of price and performance that I could find. I actually purchased mine at a Costco since that is where I found the lowest price for it. I could have bought less expensive laptops (I paid about $1100 for mine) but they were either refurbished or of less than reputable origin (strange name brands and so forth). I have put my presario through countless essays, rough days, and even a small drop from my bed without very much damage. I have heard second hand stories about how expensive these are to fix but I myself have never had any real problems. Don't expect to be able to play very many graphic intensive games (I stick to my older favorites on this one)but this is definately the laptop for you if you are on a budget or just looking for a good workhorse computer.
