Paltalk in a nutshell... (Reply to this comment)
by paltalksaavy
Hey there!
I couldn't help but notice the rediculously biased ranting and raving at how terrible paltalk is. So I will try my best to give a more deserving opinion of the program and services they offer.
Paltalk offers one of the most advanced, and easy to use voice, video and text chats available on the Net today. They offer businesses the chance to sell, and make known their products with the option of commerce rooms. People wishing for more ease of use, and more options, have the opportunity to support the works of the program by purchasing a "Blue Nickname". They offer the chance to hear, view, and talk to friends, family, co-workers, and net-friends, with little to no hastle. Now Paltalk, just as every other program out, isnt perfect... That is why paltalk employs Admins, co-admins, and allows volunteers to help users with those problems that happen to arise. Paltalk has a whole category of "Palhelp" rooms, aimed at helping those customers around the world to fix these problems... including multilingual support, and tech support for those problems that go much deeper than just program side glitches.
Getting away from the customer support, that was radically mis-interpreted by some previous opinions, I will move on to briefly describing some of the features of Paltalk. There are litteraly tens-of-thousands of users on paltalk at any given time... whom are using the instant messaging, voice, and video services that Paltalk provides. Being a user of Paltalk for the ammount of time i have, and using an array of other voice, video and text chat programs... Paltalk, by far, has the best quality in voice and video. But, dont take my word for it!! I will happily supply you with a link to their Web page, http://www.paltalk.com , and you can sign up, and download the latest Build... and off you go!

Paltalk and Users's security (Reply to this comment)
by sonnybavaria
stolen nicknames/passwords? Well, as we all know security is or at least seems to be the main topic in the Internet for this decade.
Now, I read about a stolen password in Paltalk....ooops.
How can a password be stolen? Did the person tell it to somebody? Of course not! So it must be the program! And here you are wrong.......
Internet-Users seem to trust their computers... and of course themselves. But what happens if you make a file transfer, or somebody sends you a jpg file, a photo...which happens not only in Paltalk, though....? You are connected directly to the other persons computer/IP/ISP you are not using Paltalk Program as such...only paltalk server...a simple 1 to 1 connection. Fine perfect...you open that received file and that is where it happens... you placed a trojan virus on your pc as you were not checking that received file with an up to date anti-virus-program before opening it!!!!!!!
It is your security..not paltalk's or any other program's....
You were clever you changed your password immediate... but what is the use if the trojan virus informs the creator again.....?
Another possibility could be you did a 1 to 1 video-conversation...again not using the program as such but it's server and this way you make your IP-adress visible to a possible intruder, not a big prob as your ISP gives you a new IP next time you log on, but for a fast hacker it would be easy to check your ports this way and to possibly load/place something in your computer if not secured/closed/stealth.
Then I was reading something about Gator a spybug. Paltalk is not placing spybugs!!!! That is for sure, otherwise, my Spybot - Search & Destroy, would have told me in the past. Perhaps you clicked on an advertizment.....and got Gator placed.
Oh yes, Paltalk, which is a free program unless you want specific features, runs a lot of advertizements in the free version,..... nothing, I repeat nothing is free on the internet. I heard of other communication programs in here.... no ads... perfect. What about spybugs? :)

An excellent review and update which is on time and on target. It is evident you too have experienced the security nightmare one awaits when one makes use of this hapless piece of software.
I would appreciate the author contacting me via email so I may outline some epinions.com matters which you may not be aware of. I have attempted to email you, but the email bounces back.
Thanks for the courage to say what's what; BEWARE the epinions.com "groupie volunteers" (lead reviewers?? What's up with that?!); and please email me via my contact email here on epinions.

but you don't really tell me what this software is or what it does. If you start with that information, I'm sure the rest of the review will make more sense.
