The Bottom Line: I enjoy this computer and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a new computer.
I bought this computer in a package deal. It comes with Windows XP, 1.8 GB Pentium 4 Processor, 512 MB SDRAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, 32 MB graphic card, 16x8x40 CD-RW drive, 16x DVD drive, has both IEEE 1394 Fireware and USB ports.
This is the first time I’ve used Windows XP. I really like it. Only problem I have found is that some other CD-Burning software I had wouldn’t work on it and when installed I it messed up some of the drivers for the CD and DVD rom drives. In order to use the CD-Burning software, I had to purchase the newest version and then download fixes for the drivers.
It has both IEEE 1394 and USB ports. There are some on the back and some on the front of the tower also. I enjoy having them on the front, because I just easily plug a device in without having to pull my computer out or move it around.
I do a lot of graphics and computer work. The speed of this computer is great. I have not had any problems with it.
It also comes with a “Sleep” button, which is nice because I never shut my computer off. Basically it puts your computer in a sleep state, low power, turns monitor off, etc. Then you just hit the Sleep button again and it brings back to where you were. That way you are not wear out your computer by turning it off and on all the time.
It also come with a place on top of the tower to store CDs. I burn a lot of CDs with the burner, so I put my writable CDs in there. Makes it handily and gives you a place to store them.
Overall, I enjoy this computer and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a new computer.
