Yes. What a coincidence. I purchased the S-video cable from Pelican for $10 as well. Then I sold it to a person who thought that the retail was higher. Then I decided to buy the component cable. It is true that the switch from S-video to component video output has an almost negligible difference in clarity. However, it is the color information that the component video cable prevails in. Nothing major. Besides, this increase in quality could well be psychological anyway. Sorry. I am unable to answer your question regarding the switch box for the component cable. I think you should browse around at a store.

Unfortunately I didn't run across this, so I went with a $10 s-video (I wasn't going to pay for the Monster!). I've always read that the gap between s-video and component was pretty minimal, the biggest gap is from composite to s-video. Just wondered if you were able to compare it to s-video. Right now I have an s-video switch box, this way I can run multiple items through my tv's single input, I haven't seen this for component yet, if they have it then I'll look into this cable.

Didn't think it was possible to write that much on nothing more than a video cable. Anyways good review.
