Happily it looks like with the passing years they've gotten themselves together. I've ordered well over 40 items from them without a slip up. Impressive quick delivery, wonderful rebates... it's all good now.

Buy.com had a great price listed for a Christmas present I wanted to purchase, so I decided to buy from their website. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM BUY.COM AGAIN!
I have now been DOUBLE CHARGED for my order, which has not arrived after THREE WEEKS.
I have written 6 EMAILS to customer service, and made 2 CALLS to their customer service department. They don't seem to read my emails at all, some of the responses were not even relevant to my question, and 2 of the emails were the EXACT same form email, which again did not acknowledge that I have been double charged.
I would NOT recommend doing business with Buy.com

This site did the EXACT same thing to me, only with wireless network equipment! Horrible! They sent everything separately, then sent me cancellation notices, then triple-charged my credit card!!! They used to be my favorite, but they really have problems that need to be fixed.

is up and running right now. I have ordered about a dozen items from them in the last 3 months, and they still don't charge until they ship, they notify you when your item ships, and they have been on time every time. I ordered Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 from them on 8/7/02, and it came by UPS ground on 8/9/02.
They are not always the cheapest, but when they have free shipping, they are often close to it. Of the many online stores I've used, they've been consistently the most reliable.

I've been watching a lot of stuff at buy.com debating whether or not to use the site...I may just turn the other cheek on this place.
