| bluesaint7's Full Review: Daisy Technology DIVA MP3 Players MP3064VP |
I had actually hit "add to cart" for the NEX II before I saw this. After comparing features and detailed specs, the hardware technology offered from the DIVA is better for my needs. For starters, the audio distortion is lower on the Diva than the NexII. Also the sampling frequency rate is also broader on the Diva. I am not sure about the NEX II, but the Diva's flashable firmware lets Daisy Technology fix bugs and issues as they are reported by end-users. There were complaints when the early firmwares had lower grade sound quality which was fixed in the later firmwares. Continued firmware support is always a plus these days where drivers and other hardwares are constantly changing.
Diva is a notch above other leading competitors by including a Digital Recorder for those who needs to use it for work or School lecture rooms. I personally tested this at a 80 student lecture room and I was able to record 2 hr worth lecture on 32mb. On the automatic sensitivity setting, I was able to hear back the lecture just fine. I like the dual mode activation feature. 1.) Manual recording, starts when you click play and ends when you push the same button again. 2.) Voice activation allows the recorder to only record when it picks up sound. You can tune the sensitivity of the sound to your needs.
The first day I recieved this product I was listening to it for 10 hours stright using the included AA battery running off my external 256mb Transcend 25X CF card. So battery life is superb compared to having to use 2 AA batteries like the NEX II and achieve the same usage time as Diva.
This is a winning design that considers people's wallet thickness while having the performance only $200+ players can do.
