Pros: Reliable, light, easy to use, good battery life, great screen, options
Cons: Case can be easy to mark, Gateway no longer selling in Asia/Pacific.
The Bottom Line: A quality and well priced machine that munched anything else on the market here at the time from Toshiba, Dell, Compaq etc. Custom building facility also excellent.

| suby1's Full Review: Gateway Solo 5300cs |
Used as a work horse, it spends a lot of time being carried around inside a Targus case. In terms of use, due to my profession, this could be just about anywhere so reliability is important as is battery life. So far so good on both. I haven't had any trouble (touch wood!) despite running Windows ME.
It easily handles anything that is thrown at it. A colleague at work also has a similar system and found it reliable apart from the battery loosing its "zip" fairly early in life.
A faster processor would have been the only thing I would have purchased if money had been unlimited.
The only pity is that Gateway pulled out of Asia/Pacific shortly after I purchased. They still have tech support here but I worry about parts supply and pricing.
