Pros:Its a multiplayer RPG, how often do you see that??
Cons:The story is kinda boring but the battle system rocks!
The Bottom Line: This game is very much like Summoner, now....
Believe it or not, I won this game for free with the Great RPG Giveaway. Anybody who bought a Ubi Soft game (Jade Cocoon 2, Grandia 2) would know what Im talking about.
Alon D'ar is about a guy named Jarik. The main story is to find out who is Alon D'ar. This game is very much like Summoner from THQ so if you played it then you would know what the atomsphere is with this one.
Storyline 6
Well Jarik is on a journey to find what his fate is and on the way he meets up with 3 other characters whos names are Sundeep, Tahir, and Tylonee.
You first meet up with Tahir, who really wants to find his twin brother to find out who killed him. Once you have him in your party, he will be with you for awhile and you wont meet up with one of your other teammates until you progress more into the game.
Basically, there is alot of reading with the storyline and there are barely some cinemas so it could get boring.
Battlesystem 8
Like all RPGs I stay linked to a sorry RPG (such as Jade Cocoon) with its battlesystem. In Alon D'ar you fight freely in real-time battles. You reach combat once the enemy sees you. When you beat the enemy you get some experience points called PP. I forgot what it stood for but you use it to level up your selected skills.
If you level up your skill to the maximum, which the highest you could go is 6, you get a new skill which may raise your stats even more or give you a new magic spell.
Whether you like battlesystems or not, you'll love this one, even though it does get tiresome.
Graphics 5
Like I said there are very few cinemas in A.D. I cant remember one cinema to be frank.... Anyways most of the cinemas are in-game graphics.
The magic skills look ok. There not Final Fantasy magic skills but they can do. I really cant say much on this topic.
*Sidequest*
Man, Im not trying to keep bringing up this game but if you played Summoner then you would know what sidequest really means. There are atleast 10-15 sidequest at your disposal that you can challenge. The way you complete them is that you have to get the following item - ex. 30 Silver Acorns, which are scattered about the big landscapes of this game. Good luck with them cause they are long and boring, but its worth it.
Overall 6
This game is cool and all knowing that it has multiplayer mode, which I would prefer over 1 player mode. Although the ending was very boring and corny, the game itself has a blank mind of its own, if you know what I mean...
