Pros: Internal shock mounts, captive cd trays, cd artwork visible
Cons: still large size
The Bottom Line: This thing is an improvement on a product that was already highly reliable. You can't go wrong with it.

| r0b3rt's Full Review: Pioneer CDX-P1250 Car CD Changer |
I had an old Pioneer 12 disc changer that I liked just fine except for a few things. 1, I had to manually input names for the cd's. New one is automatic. Cd title and track name. 2, Its guts were rigidly mounted to its case, which made it skip sometimes in my rough riding truck. New one has internal dampening. 3, If I wanted to see what cd was in a tray I had to take it all the way out and flip it over because they used to load silver side up. New one has the artwork facing up so all you have to do is pull it out just enough to see who it is. 4, When I'd put the loose trays back in the old one sometimes they'd go in crooked which annoyed me. New one has captive trays so you don't lose them, drop them, stick them in crooked, etc.
Yeah, the door's a little junky feeling, but all it has to do is keep the dust out and it does that just fine. All you have to do is refrain from taking a pry bar to it and it will live. My only gripe is that some companies have figured out how to play cd's without pulling them all the way out of the magazine, thus cutting a couple of inches off of the width of the whole machine. Wish Pioneer would get on the bandwagon.
