Pros:None that I can think of
Cons:predictable, very disappointing
The Bottom Line: While I think she gives it a good try, I have not enjoyed the two books I have read, so, I won't be reading anymore.
This is the second book of Sandra Browns I have read; my girlfriend is a huge fan of hers and lent me both books. I have tried to be fair and read her without prejudice, yet I still find her books wanting in intensity and intrigue. With that said I will try to give an honest review of this book.
A pair of identical thirty something twins, Gillian and Melina Lloyd are the center of this thriller. When Gillian hears her biological clock winding down she goes to the world- famous Waters Clinic and is artificially inseminated. She meets her sister Melina for lunch and tells her all about it, Melina doesn’t understand, after all she has a boyfriend, Jem Hennings, while he isn’t one of her favorite people she wonders why her sister needed to go to a clinic.
Feeling Gillian needs a change of pace Melina suggests that they switch places that evening (she is a media escort) and chauffeuring a sexy astronaut, Chief Hart, around town. Who will know, after all, they are identical twins and they always got away with it as children.
This turns out to be a fatal mistake, the next day Gillians butchered body is found and all suspicion falls on Chief Hart. While the dead women’s deceiving boyfriend wants the police to keep focusing on Hart, Melina has reason to think he is wrong. While no one knows it yet, Jem has connections with a preacher named Brother Gabriel. Chief Hart isn’t quit sure why he feels the way he does but something isn't right, he sticks around to help find out what is going on.
While I’m sure the Sandra Brown fans out there are going to give me heck, I found the book long and darn it I knew the ending before I was half way through the book. Overall I found it a disappointing book and that could be why it took me over three months.
