Not a pleasant experience.

Written: May 31 '02
Pros:Good Location. Good looking building
Cons:Uncomfortable lobby/room, Very small & dirty pool + much more
The Bottom Line: 8. Overall: It is not worth its money. A Days Inn for $70 a night would be more comforting and pleasing.

We went to Philly for Memorial Weekend. Got a room in Wyndham. I will take you step-by-step of its attributes.

1. Architecture : It is modern: hotel looks nice from the outside. You will not be embarrassed by staying there.

2. Interior : It looks expensive, but without any thought. Its too clumsy. The elevators are in one corner, the desk is nowhere to be found. Bathrooms are almost in the middle. (this was in relation to the lobby). Its like having a lot of very expensive furniture bunched up along-side each other without pattern.

3. Room : We actually got 2 rooms, one was on the 9th floor, the other on the 17th. Unlike they advertise on their website, Wyndham rooms are by far not large. They are actually below average in terms of sq. feet. The two rooms were the same except for one peculiarity: 9th floor toilet was way too high (legs would be hanging off); 17th floor toilet was too low (no room for legs: necessary to squat).
The shower was not appealing by any means.

4. Pool : Very small (they do not mention it). Not extremely clean either: mostly little kids wade in it.

5. Parking : Hotel parking is $17.00 (as of Memorial Day Weekend 2002) for 24hrs. However finding parking in downtown Philly on Mem. Day Weekend wasn't difficult.

6. Misc. Pet-Peeves : The hotel's website promised clean slippers and bath-robes: a part of relaxing hotel experience. Unfortunately, it was only promises. No slippers, no bath-robe.

7. Location : The only good thing about the hotel: it is located in the center of Philly. walking distance to the historic district and all major museum (except the Naval one).
