I love my alphasmart! It runs on three batteries and is only 2 lbs. It is easy on your shoulder when you carry it around. I love the color and the ease with which you transfer the text to a computer. Plus it is a lot cheaper than a laptop computer. I like to take it with me everywhere. While I'm sitting at UPS waiting for the doors to open, I can get a few more words in on that novel. Take it from me, an author, this is a fantastic tool.

The Alphasmart is extremely durable. Only about 12x9x1-1/2" this is a great portable, lightweight tool.

The cons are that it has a hard time transferring text to an older Mac. You might have to buy Turbo transfer software from Alphasmart. Other than that, there are no cons. I love this tool!
