| Shorton's Full Review: Dell Latitude CPx |
I bought the Dell Latitude CPX as my first notebook computer and bought a Toshiba within two months to replace it. With a name like Dell you would think this to be a great system. At first I did too but soon found out how slow it was. The new Pentium III processor took forever to boot up and then continued to be slow. Even though it has a 56K modem I could never get it to connect faster than 24K.
The CD ROM is sluggish and loud when working. Sometimes the CD ROM would automatically eject the CD in the middle of the application. After this I always had to re-boot the system because it would lock up.
Even though this particular system is small and compact it is still rather heavy. I've also noticed that the adapter gets very hot when in use. I was a little nervous about leaving the system plugged in and had to connect and disconnect the adapter every time I used it. This also meant I had to boot the system every time I used it and as stated above this took forever and wasted a lot of time.
I bought another notebook and my husband uses this one to play card games on.
