I read a review here at Epinions on DeepDiscountDVD.com and thought I would check them out.
Yes Free Shipping everyday on every order, plus good prices!
Their menu!
Deep Discount DVD has a simple to use menu when you open up to their home page.
In the center of the page you find a few good deals on some popular selling DVDs. To the right is a list of the 20 Best Sellers.
Now to your left you have a search engine that searches by the Title, Actor or the Director. There is an advanced search for setting a Price Range, Genre, Rating and Decade.
Below the search engine you will find categories broken down like Action/Adventure, Drama, Classics and many more.
Their Prices!
Their prices on average are better than most that I can buy locally and found on other Internet stores. It’s like everything else, shop around, you may find it at a better price.
My interest was the Star Trek movie series, I wanted the whole collection but I already had two when the total collection came out. The retail price for STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURES GIFT SET is $269.95 and the lowest price I could find the series was $199 locally. Deep Discount DVD has the whole collection for $175.21.
Now all I needed was 5 more for the collection at $22.67 each for a total of $136.02, so that is the route I decided to go with. Locally they sell for $24.95 plus $1.49 on state sales taxes bring the total cost each to $26.44. They do not charge me any sales tax so that is a savings of $3.77 per DVD.
Shipping
Yes Free Shipping everyday on every order but they do recommend 2 to 3 business day delivery at $3.95. They also offer overnight for $12.95.
With the Free Shipping they say 5 to 10 business day delivery.
I don’t know about you but I buy from them to save a little money so I use the free shipping and wait a few days longer.
Service
I have been shopping with Deep Discount DVD for about three months now without any problems.
I decided to order my Star Trek movies one or two at a time. My first order took 7 working days to get here. On my third order they seem to cut the time down to about 5 working days, I guess they speeded it up since I have become a regular customer.
I decide to preorder (6-weeks early) HARRY POTTER & THE SORCERER'S STONE to see how fast they were on the free delivery. The cost was $17.89 with Free Shipping and no sales tax. The movie would be released in the stores on 5-28-02, I received it on Friday 5-24-02 ahead of the release date.
They will always send you an e-mail within 24 hours to show you what you have purchased and then when a DVD is shipped they will e-mail you again showing you the complete details.
Other Stuff
Down at the bottom of the page you can click on the icon of the DVD player and they offer a DVD player for $88 and a nice set of wireless headphone for $122.36. Both come with Free Shipping
My Last Thoughts
I have been very pleased with their service and quality of their products.
They use your e-mail address and you pick out a password, once logged in and you are have your order ready, all you have to do is approve the order without having to fill everything out again. They do use a secure form when ordering.
