UPDATE ON WARNING - ELECTRIC SHOCK HP NOTEBOOK
Jan 19 '01 (Updated Mar 08 '01)
The Bottom Line Verify condition does not exist in any HP laptop you are contemplating. HP engineering acted responsibly after contact with HP Customer Service/Support did not yield satisfactory results.
HP RESPONDS TO ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD
HP, per engineering, stated that they are modifying production line to include more insulation around potential source of shock.
Also HP will address the national standard for insulation to help eliminate the problem with electric shock in theirs and other manufacturers laptop and similar technology products.
I was the person posting the original opinion and I am happy to report this development.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE - ELECTRIC SHOCK -
Read below and IF YOU HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH ANY HP (Hewlett Packard) Notebook (Laptop) PLEASE CONTACT ME.
The impact on your health or others might be of great consequence. Read below and take precautions to have HP guarantee in writing that you will not experience the same dangerous condition.
My son had just bought an HP Pavilion N5190 Notebook Laptop and he got an electrical shock from it that gave him pain all the way to the bone and lasted into the night. I would verify with HP in writing that this condition does not exist in any of their laptops you are contemplating.
They are not much at compensating for loss of income and time or taking responsibility. You might not want to expose yourself, your children to harm nor others if you are planning to take it into public areas.
My son is 6'4" and he really got hurt on that occasion, a young body or weak person may suffer more harm.
