| pyromaniac757's Full Review: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer Sound Car... |
In the past, Creative Labs has established itself as a standard by developing the Sound Blaster line of sound cards. The latest in the series, the Audigy, is no exception to the high quality that users have come to expect. After having this card installed on a new PC, it is possible to tell the difference that it makes. However, this card isn't for everybody. If you're still using a SB Live! card, then you'll probably won't want to pay extra for a card that will improve a few things. If you're building a new PC, and want the hightest quality sound availible, I recomend that you opt for this card. Be sure to use some nice speakers. I tested this card using a 2 speaker/1 subwoofer set of Boston Acoustics speakers (BA635) and it sounds great. Another cool feature is the software included with the card. Windows users will be able to find an AudioHQ program in their control pannel that includes some neat tools for manipulating sound. My only real complaint is that device drivers are not availible for my RedHat Linux 7.2 install. So now, until I can find some my Linux sessions are in silence.
