I ordered a rare DVD from Movies Unlimited, because they had the cheapest price for this gem. And it wasn't like I had many alternatives - only three online stores had the DVD. I got the confirmation email immediately, and everything seemed to go well.
So I waited for my DVD. Impatiently. A friend of mine was leaving the country for a year, and we were planning on watching the movie in the farewell party. I even chose the "2nd day air shipping" to make sure the DVD would get here in time.
But nothing happened. I waited for a week, and sent them an email asking what happened. Didn't get a reply.
I waited another week, and then sent another email (with a bit annoyed tone), to three different addresses (as the website was confusing - I didn't know which email address to choose). After two days, I got a reply, saying that the DVD was out of stock. TWO WEEKS after the order!!! The next day I got another email - this time from the "manager of internet customer service". This guy first said "don't send emails to several addresses or you won't get replies at all." Second, "we can't send you a DVD, if we don't have it in stock." How stupid they think I am?!? And this "customer service professional" was attacking me?
To their defense, I found out that their website has a small section, "Policies", that unclearly implies they will let the customer know if the movie is out of stock _in_three_weeks_or_so_. I personally find this absolutely ridiculous. Never in my life did I have to wait for three weeks to find out the movie is out of stock!!
In my reply, I pointed this out, and very politely explained that their customer service is s**t. And finally, I cancelled the order - and decided to order the DVD from one of the other ones. That company was _very_ helpful, told me they were expecting a shipment on a particular date (they were out of stock too), and promised me the fastest possible shipment with a lower price as I was in-state.
Surely enough, I got my DVD the next week. Twice. Movies unlimited decided _not_ to cancel my order... and even charged for the second day shipping.
So, a horrible experience from day one. STAY AWAY!!!
