Pros: Color; backlit screen; inexpensive; some great titles.
Cons: Eats batteries like crazy; no support to speak of these days; bulky.

Well, still, I didn't know that Majesco re-released some software. Thanks for pointing that out -- keeps things all accurate and all. Think I'll change up my review and mention you brought that too my attention.

Hmm, so you did mention that. My oversight, definitely.

Yep. I mentioned Majesco having re-issued the Game Gear in 2000, and implied I have a unit from that company. I didn't know Majesco also re-released some games, but I guess that makes sense!

I've seen the Genesis III. Awwww. Cute system all the way.

Thanks for the comment!

Those titles you saw at Toys R Us were re-released games recently re-published by the company Majesco Sales. Also, chances are, the Game Gear you bought was also a Majesco Sales re-release. FYI, they are the same people that released the adorable Genesis 3. Have you ever seen that thing? Too cute, too cute.

Well, I've managed to steer my five-year-old son away from such things (he can play Frogger on the 2600 and Sonic on the Genesis and Dreamcast like a champ, however).

I'm sure, however, he'll be hollering for one game or another in a couple of years.

at the Pokemon Games, I shelled out over $25.00 each for The red and Gold Game cartridges for
the GameBoy and my loving son played them for
about a week before he grew tired of them.
