Pros:Low price, easy setup, great for basic computing.
Cons:Software modem, Speakers.
The Bottom Line: This is for the person that is looking for a easy to setup basic computer that you replace rather than upgrade later. Recommended for children.
The gateway astro is a great computer for younger kids to use as a learning system. I would recommend it also for basic computing such as spreadsheet. The biggest things to keep in mind are the lack of any ports except usb. This is not a problem if you have usb equipment but if not it could be. The only real complaints that I have with this computer is the modem. It is an motorola software modem which makes it very easily corrupted and it really can slow the system on occasion. The sound is not bad, but could be much better. Overall this is not bad for the money.
