Avon Products Online Store - they've got more than "just" makeup items

I think it's a well established fact that I enjoy trying new things. So, need I even say why I went to www.avon.com and placed an order? heehee
Why Use The Site?
There seems to always be a sale on Avon Products Online Store, I know this because once you sign up with the web site you will be notified of these sales. If you're an Avon fan, or if you even just like a handful of Avon products, you really should sign up at their site. Sales, specials, gifts with purchase, free shipping. Seriously, it seems once a week I get a message from them with at least one nice offer inside.
I don't know about all of you, but I don't have an Avon Lady. What I do have is several friends who sell Avon. None of which live near me. Plus, I love shopping online. You can be in your P.J.'s at 1 am placing an order and that's fine.
Should you have an Avon Rep. and still wish to buy online, you can do so and still allow your rep. to get credit. During the Check Out Process, you'll be asked for your Rep.'s Phone Number. That's it. Tell Avon who they are and they'll get credit for your purchase. Pretty neat, huh?
What they have
In addition to lots of makeup, skin care, and bath and body items, Avon Products Online Store also has a ton of fabulous gift items. If you're looking for a gift for someone (Mom, Dad, Grandma, Child) check out their "Gifts" section. I was happily surprised at all they had to offer. I'll be back if for nothing else to buy a few gift items.
Using the Site
Avon Products Online Store is pretty easy to navigate. I personally enjoyed browsing the "Specials" (read S A L E !!) as well as their top 10. Since I'm not really into Avon going over their top 10 products was interesting to me.
I did spend a lot of time on the site as I wasn't really sure what all I wanted. Avon Products Online Store is easy to browse and has a nicely working search engine.
In the end I checked out with the following:
bubble bath for my son
Shower gel, body lotion, body spray, bubble bath for me
a free gift (woo hoo!)
some lotion which was half price
Breast Cancer Pen
and a few other small items
Shipping and Delivery
I placed my order on a Tuesday and immediately received an order confirmation e-mail. Within that message was my Package Number so I could track it via the UPS web site. I was told my order would arrive within 4-7 working days (M-F).
The next day, Wednesday, I received another message from Avon Products Online Store letting me know my items had been shipped.
I then received my order the following Monday. In my online shopping experience, that's not super good, as I've gotten orders from other online stores quicker, but it's also not the least bit bad. My order was packed very well and everything was just as I'd expected. Avon came through with flying colors.
The shipping charges were more than reasonable. I had a rather heavy order (several 8 oz. containers) and I was charged less than $6 for shipping.
What if you hate it?
I did have to return most of what I ordered. The reason is simple and sad. I was allergic to the scent of the bath products. Grrrrr..... allergies suck.
I packed the items I needed to return right up and actually took them to my local mailing center that evening. It cost me *gulp* $11 to ship it UPS (would have been even more to send via U.S. Postal Service). I was told my package should arrived at Avon Products Online Store within 10 days.
Avon Products Online Store reimbursed me, with no problem for the returned items. My credit card statement shows the credit for the correct amount posting a week and half after they should have received the items I returned. From what I hear, that's pretty good.
Because of the high shipping costs I had to pay to return the items, I do recommend that you only purchase heavier items that you already know you will love; try and find a rep. close to you to get samples or something as those shipping charges can add up.

If I ever had the need to shop at Avon Products Online Store again I would not hesitate to do so. They gave me nothing but good, honest and upfront service. No hassles whatsoever, even on returns.
