Pros: Location, luxury, service
Cons: Away from the beaches, Cost
The Bottom Line: The hotels location makes up for it's restricted size and activities on site without giving up the fabulous service and luxurious feel.

| bermudabum's Full Review: Hamilton Princess |
Why would I recommend the Hamilton Princess when I would prefer another? Let me answer this and more for you as I unfold the reasons.
The Hamilton Princess like it's counter part in Bermuda, The Southampton Princess, is a fabulous resort hotel. It is located walking distance from all of action of Front street in the downtown of this "Pastel Capital."
The hotels location is great. It is so close to all of the evenings activities, pubs, restaurants, dancing etc as well as having quick access to shopping, cruises launching areas, tours and of course the ferry service is great. It is a fair distance from the beaches for which the island is renown however. You will definitely want to get a moped to go explore the beaches.
The lush tropical plants lining the roadside with dark and light greens to stand out against the pink pastel color of the hotel helps to put you at ease. The curved driveway passing beneath a covered entrance makes for a pleasant entrance be it from cab, moped or even better yet carriage. But when you enter that is where the look of average hotel ends yet alone the feel.
Immediately upon entering the hotel you will find yourself welcomed and entranced by the class and elegance of the staff and decor. The warmth and comfort of wood panels in the entry way leads into a large foyer area with numerous corridors leading away to marvels untold. The large windows looking out upon the wondrously beautiful bay and filled with the many lights of chandeliers filled with shinning crystals.
The service is of course top notch which is exactly what you would expect to get for the cost. This hotel like the other large ones across the island is expensive. The locations conveniences however is the reason someone would chose here to stay over some of the other resorts. The harbor views are nice but I still prefer to see the wide beaches and shallow coves over the boats moored in harbor.
Because of the location you may find that this resort offers less in the way of resort activities. The grounds are much smaller than say Elbow Beach or the South Hampton Princess resorts which have great expanses of property and therefore can include tennis courts and large luxurious gardens and numerous other offerings but the service and accommodations are still quite fabulous and the concierge can arrange almost any activity for you including transportation.
You will find elegant restaurants with fabulous chefs just off the lobby as well as a small shop for convenience of the hotels guests and of course not one but two pools. One even has fresh water for those unwilling to swim in a saltwater pool which is the norm across the island since water is a precious commodity when you consider if it doesn't rain many locals tanks may run dry.
If you are looking to be pampered while you are here you will surely be obliged. The rooms are luxurious and of modest size for their prices on the island with all the normal amenities available. The staff is courteous and attentive without becoming obtrusive. The clientele is usually very business minded as you are in the center of the islands industry and capital. A ten minute walk however brings you to the islands center for shopping, dining and culture-Front street.
