I have been using freeway for about 3 years now and I love it! As a college student I don't have any long distance bills!!!
Here is how it works, you call an 800# and enter your pin number and the number you want to call. Then you listen to about 20 second ads, each worth 2 minutes of long distance phone time. When you are ready to make you call, you press # and it will connect you telling you how many minutes you earned.
The catch! If you listen to ads and earn a lot of minutes and call your party and they are not home...you just wasted a lot of time. As well, you only get 200 minutes a month (I get around this by having multiple accounts).
Helpful hint! Only listen to one ad and connect to make sure your friend is home, then call them back after earning more minutes.
Sometimes it is annoying to listen to messages because you want to instantly make a call, but the end is worth it when you don't have phone bills!!!
To become a member of freeway go to www.broadpoint.com and register. It might take a few weeks for you to complete the registration process but eventually they will email you a pin number. Good Luck and Happy Calling!
