Wouldn't Choose Verizon Again

Pros: Good coverage area, CSR's say I'm sorry a lot.
Cons: Rude CSR's who lack knowledge, HUGE billing errors
The Bottom Line: If you need a company that will solve problems with wireless-service, Verizon is NOT it. The CSR's say "I'm sorry" instead of "what can we do to fix this problem?"

When I originally decided to switch to Verizon, I expected good coverage area and great customer service after I'd heard so much hype over both. What I found was a pretty decent coverage area but HORRIBLE customer service. Over and over the company would grossly over-bill me (300+ dollars over each month). When I would call to question this, the representatives would tell me that I must be talking over my alotted minutes. They would refuse to admit error until I specifically pointed out each place inwhich I was overcharged. Finally this got to an outrageous point and I wrote a letter to the corporate offices. Even the person I spoke with there was of no help. She defended her company at any cost and would not help me. The only information offered was, "We've won the JD Power award. We must be great at customer service so the problem must be with you". I have even had a CSR laugh at my problems. The last straw came when I received a service suspension notice for not paying my bills. I have never missed a payment. In fact every bill has been paid in full. When I called to inquire about this, no one had an answer as to why I received the note.
Unfortunately, I am still a Verizon Wireless customer because I am tied into a two year contract. Before Verizon I had Nextel and before that ATT. Both companies greatly surpassed Verizon with helpful, knowledgeable, polite staff.
Never again will I sign a contract with Verizon. I need representatives who know about the products and services offered by the company they represent as well as representatives who can look deeper into my problems and offer a solution instead of an "I'm sorry".
