Read testimonials of financial ruin at your search engine. Type in "predatory lenders" and "countrywide sucks" and you would do yourself a favor to look for another company before they ruin you too!

Countrywide aggressive 'fee' tactics (Reply to this comment)

I've been a Countrywide customer for a few years now and have noticed the following.
- I've found their employees to be helpful and very polite.
- You get charged to make a payment online.
- You cannot make payments online unless you agree to receive all future communications electronically.
- You get charged for making a payment by phone.
- Late payments are ruthlessly and agressively fined and reported to credit agencies, even if you are late a day or two. Make a single mistake and your credit history is in trouble.
I find countrywide to be two-faced. They talk nicely but when it comes down to it - they'd just as soon charge you for something.
I would not recommend countrywide.
