Here is basic rundown, on what your 2001 trip may cost. For a round trip, on MEARS Shuttle van service, from the Orlando International Airport, you will need to spend $27.00 per person.( Don't forget to budget the cost of parking your own vehicle at your home town airport). There are over a dozen Resorts and Hotels on Disney Property, which vary from Budget (Sort of) to Luxurious. Here are the prices for the remainder of 2001. The Value season is from January 1 through February 14, August 26, through September 26, and from November 14 through December 20 The Regular Season is from April 29 through August 25, and from September 27 through November 3. The Peak Season is from February 15, through April 28. At the All Star Sport, Music, and Movies, and the New Pop Century Resort. In Value Season, $77.00. In Regular Season $99.00. In Peak Season, $104.00. At Port Orleans, Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs, the rates are as follows. In Value Season $129.00. In Regular Season, $149.00. In Peak Season, $174.00. At the Wilderness Lodge, the rates for 2001 are as follows. In Value Season $189.00. In Regular Season $219.00. In Peak Season $265.00. At the New Animal Kingdom Lodge, where the balconies overlook the Savannah's the rates will be as follows when it open in the Spring of 2001. In Value Season, $265.00. In Regular Season $295.00. In Peak Season $340.00. If you really want to live it up, the rates at the Grand Floridian are as follows. In Value Season $314.00. In Regular Season, $359.00. In Peak Season, $414.00. Theme ParkTicket prices, can change at any time, but the price just increased on January 7, 2001, so the prices will probably remain stable for at least another year. The price of a One Day, one Park ticket for Adult is $50.88. A Child's ticket, from age 3--9 will cost $40.28. A 5 day park hopper pass will cost $217.00 for Adults over age 10. The Child's tickets are $172.00. A ticket to Blizzard Beach, or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be $29.00 for Adults and $24.00 for Kids. River Country is a bit more affordable at $15.95 for Adults and $12.50 for those under 10. For Kids and Adults the tickets to Pleasure Island are $20.00. An all day passport to Disney Quest, the interactive arcade will run you $29.00 for Adults and for kids ages 3-9, the tickets are $23.00 each. Meals and Snacks can make or break your budget. Careful planning is the key. If you are staying at one of the Disney Hotels, invest in a $8.00 refillable mug. You can drink soda, coffee and cocoa free for the rest of your visit. ( And you can reuse it, from year to year) At the parks, you will be overloaded with tempting snacks at every corner. Here is what the average snack cost. A box of Popcorn will run $2.50. A bottle of Powerade (Gatorade) Will cost $2.50. Bottled Water can cost up to $3.00! A Cup of soda will vary form $1.96 to $2.66. The average fast food meal consisting of a Hot Dog or Hamburger, French Fries and a Medium Beverage will cost $7.50 per person. A Fresh Baked Cookie or Brownie from the Main Street Bakery is under $3.00! A Carmel Apple from the Main Street Confectionary will run right at $3.00. A Pastry from the Bakery in France averages at $5.00 apiece. ( But well worth it) You can get a piece of fresh fruit at MGM Studios, at the Anaheim Produce stand for under $1.00! Character Dining at the Contemporary Hotel, at Chef Mickey's Restaurant will cost $9.20 for Adults and $7.50 for kids for Breakfast. Dinner is higher at $19.95 for Adults and $8.95 for kids. A round of Putt Putt type golf at the Fantasia Garden will cost $9.20 for Adults and $7.50 for kids. A Helium mylar Mickey Mouse balloon cost $3.50. A roll of 24 exposures Kodak 35 mm film will cost $8.00. Don't forget the sunscreen, a bottle will run you $12.00 at WDW! A Pair of Mickey Mouse ears will cost $5.00. A plain Mickey Mouse T-Shirt, no frill will cost $17.00 in Kids sizes, while the Adult version will run $23.00. A Mickey Mouse stuffed plush animal will cost $22.00. Don't forget the lady that collecting your newspapers and mail, A WDW logo Coffee Mug will cost $10.00. If you want to collect the Autographs of the Disney Characters, an autograph book will set you back $5.00. An ink pen, will be $3.50. If you want a good travel guide, try Birnbaum's 2001 Guide Book, It cost $15.00 a most book stores, get one of these before you leave home. To rent a Stroller at the parks, it will cost $5.00, per day, plus a $1.00 deposit. To park your car at the 4 big parks, you will pay $6.00 a day. If you are a WDW resort guest, parking is free, when you show your resort ID. Parking at the Water parks and hotels is FREE. Don't forget to send Grandma a Post card of the castle. It will cost 30 cents. If these prices seem outrageous, don't be gloomy. There are plenty of ways to get discounts, such as AAA auto club and the Magic Kingdom Club. You can reach the Magic Kingdom club at 1 800 413 4763. The cost of memberships will pay for themselves in savings that you may receive. |
