The Bottom Line Give your kid some space, let them go out to the mall with their friends, let them experiment, let them choose. They won't hate you as much.
So as a young adult or former teenager, I've experienced everything a teenager could experience. And for all the moms reading you want to know what I have experienced. And how to not have your teen hate you. Well here is a short list of things not to do: Pick of the phone while your teen is talking, don't present yourslef infront of your teen's friends, don't kiss your teen on the check, stop pretending your teen is a child, Heres so advice: 1) As your child grows he/she develops his or her own style, maybe your kids going to wear make-up, or wear some freaky contacts, don't let them, but don't yell at them, try to use a claim voice to talk to them why they shouldn't, but not a slow claim voice and make them sit down to listen to you, cause when my parents did that I would just not pay attention. 2) Do not repeat things over and over again. This is very annoying. 3) A good way to get your child to do what you want is to give them alittle space, let them go out once and a while, not everyday, but maybe once or twice a week. But be sure to not let them get addicted. Question So what if I want to do things my way, to punish anytime my kid does something wrong? Answer Depending on how much your punish your child he or she may end up hating you forever. No calls when your retired, no visits, not even at your funeral. Hey, thats what studies prove. Interesting information Studies have shown that the best parenting in the world will only effect 50% on how your child will turn out. All the groundings, leactures, etc. will only effect your child by 50%. So what about the other 50%, well how you child turns out is who their peers are, where they grow up, what they experience as a child. As any example, if a child goes to a school known for drugs, most likely your child will not be a straight A student. Information from this opinion was gathered from personal experience and proven facts from articles. |
