I suppose the first piece of advice I could give you is how much does support mean to you. While you can buy the same computer far cheaper at a discount store are you savvy enough with computers to work out most of the bugs or problems that accompany these machines.I for one am not.We haven't had any terrible problems but we have had a few minor ones including the most recent I felt the need to reformat the hard drive to restore the performance to when I first bought it and Dell was there every time I had a question and walked me through the process of reinstalling the device drivers and other things to get me going again. I even lost one of my audio driver installing discs and was able to download the one I needed from Dell. When I purchased the computer they asked me what I would be using it for and they put together a good machine for me.I have been very satisfied with this model and it does a great job burning CD's playing music and DVD's, surfing the net and all of the other normal uses my family and I have had. I would recommend getting one of the faster processors and the most ram you can afford as new technology keeps making increasing demands on your computer which will ultimately make it run slower. If you notice my computer is pretty slow by todays standards and I have upgraded my ram to 256 from the original 64 that came with the computer.Makes a lot of difference in how many tasks I can perform now.As far as reformatting goes I am a true believer and everyone was right it does make your computer run like brand new.
