Pros: lifetime warranty, microwavable
Cons: not so good looking, I don't like the mouth piece
The Bottom Line: This one gets 4 stars because of the microwavability (is that a word?)

| LRGuis's Full Review: Tupperware 13-Ounce Commuter Mug with US Flag Bann... |
Though listed with a long title, this item's availability is limited - long name, short shelf life. This, however, applies only to the portion "with US Flag Banner", for the guts of the product is a newer Tupperware staple, the 13-Ounce Commuter Mug.
Now before I move on I somehow feel it necessary to state that I do not sell Tupperware for a living nor does any of my close family, friends, mailman, the son's kindergarten teacher, or my newspaper boy. No bias to display with this review. What I do have is a neighbor who calls me only when she's having a Tupperware party and the inability to say "no" when she does call. That said....
13-Ounce Commuter Mug
Readers are bright enough to come up with the liquid volume held by this mug just from the title. It is styled in the fashion of those stainless steel commuter mugs that are rather popular with the drinking and driving set - drinking coffee and the like, that is. The base of the cup, more narrow than the top, is 2.75 inches in diameter - we're told by Tupperware that this is to enable it to fit in most vehicle cup holders. Not sure about "most" but it fits pefectly in the various holders about our mini van. (Height of this mug is seven inches.)
Features courtesy of Tupperware
A mug is not just a mug when Tupperware gets its hands on it. Consider these features:
- Microwave the contents of your mug, with lid off, in the event contents get too cool or you're simply heating water to dip that tea bag in. The mug is insulated to retain temperature.
- Thumb rest for weary thumbs is at the top of the handle. Though it sounds a bit silly to highlight this feature, it does make for an easier grip considering the handle itself is a bit thin.
- Lid is adult-proof in terms of spills. I say this since when testing such things on children there are a multitude of ways to create spills, but when used in the way this cup is intended with lid firmly in place, I have not experienced any spills.
- Washes well and mine remains relatively stain free, though I am a tea and coffee drinker so the inside is not as colorful as it once was.
But I'm not so crazy about...
The fact that this is 100% Tupperware and looses some points where style is concerned. The feel is all Tupperware as is the look - laugh all you want, but for the price tag I can have a fairly wide array of travel mug choices in most any store or specialty coffee shop.
I also find the drinking/mouth area on this one a bit awkward. The lid can be rotated to allow the user to hold this one with right or left hand, but I find the top's lid to have such a high lip (which, to its credit, does hold in splashes quite well) that it's not my favorite mug to drink from. It just plain doesn't feel right.
Lest you think I forgot the flag..
This item is a past feature item, with Tupperware's 13-ounce commuter mug and a flag decorating the front. The flag is decorative, not a true US flag, measuring about an inch across and three inches high. Fine it you are more patriotic now and wanting to celebrate such things on even your commuter mug but not a big selling feature for me. In fact, finding this one will mean finding either a distributor with excess inventory and making a trip to Amazon.com before their supply runs dry.
The mug...
will remain and is not a bad choice. It's good for those who don't like the feel of stainless steel (I am one of those), and considering it is backed by a lifetime warranty it's hard to go wrong. Not a bold fashion statement but perhaps when drinking your coffee and driving down the freeway a fashionable mug should be the least of your concerns.
