I am a die-hard strategy war gamer and this is the closest to perfect I have seen to date! The designer of Empire Earth is Rick Goodman. He was also the lead designer Microsofts Age Of Empires. The game is simply as large as life itself. The game spans over 50,000 years of time, empires, civilizations and war.
A Description Of The Game Play
You start out as a small civilization on one of many available maps you can choose from. You start out with a town center and 5 people. You must explore, find and acquire all five of the resources in order to advance in the Empire Earth. It is very similar to Age of Empires in that since. After you gather enough resources (Food, Gold, Iron, Wood and Stone) you can start building and advance to the next epoch. There are fourteen different epochs, from (I) through (XIV). Each epoch you advance to offers you a bit more to build and upgrade on. Everything from your farming abilities to your military abilities.
Needless to say you can't do all this with just five people. The more food you gather through farming and hunting the more people you can create. I generally end up with about ninety citizens and about ninety military units. The ninety people will be split up doing gold mining, Stone mining, Iron mining, Timber collecting, Hunting and farming. You can also gather food by building a dock and then a fleet of fishing boats. They are also used to
build a new structure or an anti aircraft gun.
The Military building is my favorite part of the game! You are able to build up Land, Air and Sea forces. There are literally hundreds of different sorts of military units! Furthermore there are hundreds of upgrades for the many different types of units. During the early stages of the game you will build up an Army with Swordsmen, Archers, Pike men and catapults. You are also able to build war boats.
As you progress through the game you will be able to assemble more advanced and formidable military ensemble. Around the VII epoch you will have the ability to put together an Army riflemen, cannons, cavalry and crossbowmen. You will also have the ability to build a powerful naval fleet!
Later when you get up to the atomic age you will have the ability to build everything our military has today! It's a powerful thing building nuclear submarines with Tomahawk missiles then putting them into action! The thing that sticks out in my mind the most in Empire Earth is dropping a nuclear war-head from a B-52 bomber! It wipes out entire cities and or assembled armada's or naval fleets! You see a three dimensional mushroom cloud and hear the RIIIIP of the air imploding / exploding... It's a trip! Oh yeah and it really sucks when the AI nukes you !! 8-)
During the later stages of the game you get to create some futuristic battle machines and units that were very well thought out and quite fun to play around with! At any rate I really enjoy playing Empire Earth and would recommend it to any war / strategy gamer!!

GAME-PLAY [10 0f 10]
The game play with Empire Earth is intensive, intelligent and seamlessly endless! You will never get the same scenario twice...
Sound [9 of 10]
The sound affects on this game are top notch. It offers everything from wood being chopped to the sound of a nuclear bomb detonation...
Graphics [9 of 10]
The graphics are very well put together. I tend to play were I can view my entire army while they are engaged in combat. This has the units (graphics) pretty small. Even at that range the graphics are pretty detailed. You do have the option of zooming right into one unit. This gives you a very large and detailed look at the unit (graphic).
User Interface [9 of 10]
If you have played other strategy / war games you will have no problem at all catching on to Empire Earth. It's put together in the same fashion as past and current games. You left click the desired citizen / unit and right click where you want them to work / attack. You can also drag a box around groups, units, armies or fleets and order them as a group to do a mission or job.

Conclusion
Empire Earth is with out a doubt my favorite RTS strategy war game! Just when I got fairly good fighting against the AI who was directing three separate civilizations. I tried fighting the AI who is running two civilizations that are allied! I am still yet to win fighting 2 on 1 ... The game is never the same and will provide me with many more months of good fun!
Thanks for the read...
