I purchased memory from Edge Micro on June 7th. I bought from them because they were the only company that was not going to charge triple the amount for shipping memory.
It was almost immediately that my credit card was charged, but it was a least a week later when it finally shipped out. It was sent ground service, so it took over a week to get to me.
I go to install the memory in 3 different computers and none of them would boot up with the memory installed. Knowing that sometimes OEM computers can be picky, I took them home and installed them in my computer and they worked fine.
It wasn't until I was taking the memory out of the computer that I noticed the sticker on it. PC133 --- I immediately went to their website and double checked my order information, only to find that I did in fact order PC100 memory. They had shipped the wrong one.
At first I didn't think anything of it, I contacted them by e-mail asking if they could swap for what I ordered, but the response that I got back was that I needed to return it and order again.
So basically I got stuck paying for shipping in the first place, paying for shipping to send it back, and they wanted me to pay shipping again for their mistake?
I've had good experiences with a variety of online retailers, but Edge Micro leaves a lot to be desired.
I returned the memory, but have not received a credit yet. It's only been 2 days since it was signed for, so I will give them a couple more. I will never order from them again, and if they don't refund the full amount of my purchase including shipping, I will be contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge.
*UPDATE* It is now August 5th and a credit for my purchase, minus shipping charges now appears on my credit card. So I ended up with no product and a whole bunch of shipping charges I had to pay when it was them who shipped the wrong product.
STAY AWAY FROM EDGE MICRO!
