| garrjo's Full Review: Warcraft III For Windows |
In continuation of the original series: Warcraft I and II, the most recent of the series has not only set a new standard but, has lead a pathway for future gaming products to follow as is the tradition of Blizzard.
Lets review what we have:
- 4 Races of Play (Elf | Human | Orc | Undead )
- 4 Unique Stories that intermingle with actions from
previous story.
- Hero Based strategy RPG that allows for each 'HERO' to
be built upon in a variety of possibilities: Equipment | Levels and experience.
- Excellent story and graphics.
As is the tradition of Blizzard you will not only find the storyline to be wonderfully done but, indeed complex and rich in its plot twists.
Lets begin with whats needed:
------------------------------------------
Single Player Requirements
------------------------------------------
1. High End Video card
(for the expensive resource graphics)
2. Plenty of Memory (256 On Mine)
3. A decent sized monitor wouldn't hurt (17+)
4. 400 Mhz Processor
5. 700 MB HD Space
6. DirectX 8.1
The Multiplayer experience is best for DSL or Cable modems. The basics behind the multiplayer experience is just as the except the hero is yourself and your experience and wins will put your level up. However, there are losses to the multiplayer as your heros must be built each time that you engage in a challenge and you really reap no benefit as of yet when you are level up from others. The multiplayer auto-challenge will only allow you to play against players with a similar level and experience rank.
------------------------------------------
Multiplayer Requirements
------------------------------------------
1. Low-Latency Connection
2. TCP/IP Connection
In my humble opinion:
If you've been sleeping for the last 5 years you wouldn't haven any idea what to feed your pc. However, as most of us haven't we have seen blizzard move from a low budget out classed software developer to a leading giant and this recent release follows suit in spades.
If you haven't gotten it yet do to the price...What the hell is wrong with you?
