I have had VoiceStream for over a year and must say the coverage in Chicago is better than most of the other carriers. However should you decide to upgrade to a newer phone good luck. I wanted to upgrade to the Motorola V60g and went through customer service as this is the only way you can upgrade. They say "phone is on back order and your really NOT going to get that much of a price break"
I called 3 VoiceStream stores within a 5 mile radius and you cannot upgrade through them. You can buy the phone but you CANNOT get the $100.00 rebate . Cost at the different stores, $350.00, $285.00, $325.00.
I got tired of different strokes for different folks and signed with AT&T. Got the phone for $99.00 after rebates. I called VoiceStream customer service to cancel. GUESS what,NOW they want to sell me the phone for $150.00.
I tried AT&T and the signal for my usage was bad so here goes the phone back to AT&T.
I'm calling VoiceStream again.......the phones are on back order and have been for sometime. I keep calling until I get someone that has some sense about them (5 times).
He is understanding and gives me a month of credit to keep the account alive and suggest I contact some stores and see if they will deal with me on a price WITHOUT help from customer service.
One associate at a store said cancel the account and sign another contract then I could get the rebated phone. I called customer service to see if this was possible...NO..when we see your SS pop up they will block the new transaction. I MUST WAIT 90 DAYS AFTER CANCELLING TO SIGN BACK UP TO GET THE PHONE WITH REBATES.
I called VoiceStream sales....they can't understand...they have the phones in abundance BUT that is a customer service issue. I was finally directed to the customer upgrade phone number. THEY SAY "CURRENT CUSTOMERS MUST WAIT AT THE END OF THE LINE UNTIL THE WHOLE WORLD (new customers,etc)HAS BOUGHT THEIR PHONES """THEN""" CURRENT CUSTOMERS MAY BE ABLE TO UPGRADE.
