Swiss Colony = Christmas shopping ease!

My first Swiss Colony experience was almost ten years ago. I don't remember how I ran across them, but certainly remember the feeling of glee when I realized we could buy Christmas gifts and defer payments and in monthly payments at that!
To a financially strapped young college family living on one minimum wage job and the Lord's grace, that was an answer to prayer as we didn't know how we were going to afford anything for anyone except our children.
Yes, their items tend to cost a bit more than if we were to purchase them from a local merchant, but the convenience and selection and payment plan far out weighed any additional cost. And their option of "postage paid" items that can be sent directly to your recipient (with gift card included) was just what we needed as we were several hundred miles from the family and friends on our gift giving list.
I admit, I was a bit hesitant as I sent my first order off...mail order food? Is that tacky? Is that playing food poison roulette? But all those fears were laid to rest as soon as my first package arrived.
My order arrived in a very timely manner and has every year since that first order. Never once has anything arrived broken. Their packaging is superior. And when you finally get the package open, their products are always visually appealing. But the real test is in the taste and in ten years there hasn't been one complaint from anyone in my family.
One of our family favorites is the largest box of petite fours. My daughters dance with delight when that box is opened and I have to watch it like a hawk or they would all disappear in a matter of days!
Five years ago when our family relocated for my husbands first pastoral position I started hosting an annual Christmas open house. Now that we are not as financially strapped as we were during our college days, not only do I use Swiss Colony for far off gifts I need to send, but I purchase all my open house treats from them as well. With my busy life of full-time ministry, a family and home and three part time jobs, I simply don't have the time to bake everything I need for an open house. The selection with Swiss Colony allows me to lay out a spread that has something that appeals to everyone.
We have probably tried just about everything they offer, usually ordering something new each year. They always have a "free" goody with each order, usually of the chocolate variety which makes my chocoholic husband very happy indeed.
Only once in our history with Swiss Colony have I sent anything back, it was a hand personalized ceramic house filled with chocolate. I didn't like the hand writing and sent it back. I was given full credit with no questions asked. Their customer service representatives have always been helpful, friendly and polite.
Last Christmas was my first experience ordering online (had mailed orders in every year prior) and that was a breeze! I found their website to be very user friendly, found everything I wanted and was in and out in no time at all (my kind of shopping!)
So if you are a Swiss Colony fence sitter, this epinion member says "get off the fence"! Weather you want chocolates, fine desserts, nuts, popcorn, meats, spreads, cheeses, cookies, fruits or any number of unique gifts for every member of the family, then Swiss Colony could be your favorite one-stop-shop.
