| Candice923's Full Review: Ballys Las Vegas |
When I first visited Vegas a year ago, I was not impressed with Bally's at all. The casino seemed too small, the structure couldn't compare with Paris next door, and it was set too far back off of the strip. Plus, it didn't have all the glitz and glamour of the surrounding casinos and hotels.
A year later, my mother and I visited Vegas again, and stayed at Bally's. It wasn't as nice as the Mirage, but it was certainly nicer than some of the other hotels, such as the New Frontier. The rooms were spacious and, more importantly, clean. Plus, we had a nice view of the Flamingo and other parts of the strip. On top of that, the casino seemed to have grown. There were all sorts of new table games and slot machines. Even the bar looked as though it was under renovations.
The kicker happened last week. My best friend, Dionne (Dionne25) and I went to Vegas. It was her first time, and I wanted to make sure she had fun. We left late and got to Vegas late. We were starving and stopped at Treasure Island to eat. Since there was so much congestion on the strip, we decided to stay and play in the Treasure Island casino for a little while.
Finally, we left and checked into Bally's at 11:30pm. The desk clerk, Soudaly, informed us that the room we requested with two double beds was taken. There was only one room available, and it had one bed. Of course, Dionne and I weren't about to sleep in the same bed, and Soudaly knew that. So, she apologized profusely, especially since we had reserveations for a 2 bed room, and told us that we could stay in the Executive suite.
THE EXECUTIVE SUITE.
Dionne and I nearly choked. We thanked Soudaly and headed up to our room on the 17th floor. (Room 6710, to be exact.) We almost died when we opened the door.
The floor plan was bigger than my house. Seriously. There were three bathrooms, a shower, a bathtub, a bar, a mini-fridge, two couches, a dining set, three televisions, a bed big enough to sleep eight people, two different sink areas, and a panoramic window. PHEW!!! It was amazing. And, it was SO clean! Beyond that, they didn't even charge us extra for the room.
The Big Kitchen Buffet is the buffet located in Bally's. It's not the best on the strip, but certainly not the worst. They have Chinese, Italian and American fare, as well as a few other types of food. The desserts are great, too. I prefer the breakfast buffet there above any of the other meals, as the food seems a bit more fresh.
Bally's is set back from the strip, but is connected to Paris via a passageway lined with shops. There is also a bridge to the Barbary Coast. It is located in a nice, central spot, where you can see the Bellagio fountains from the front of the walkway.
Bally's also has very low rates. For the quality of service you get, it is DEFINITELY worth more than the price. Honestly, I can't wait to go back!
