About a year ago, I felt the need to upgrade my computer again. Yes! Again. At the time I was running an AMD® K62 380mhz processor on an Asus® motherboard that was overclocked to 400mhz. This was a solid system and I had no issues with it, but wanted to get into a Pentium® II processor at 450mhz that my brother had available at the time. Thus began my search for a new motherboard.
I had always kind of liked the Intel 440BX chipset, and looked for Slot 1 motherboards that came with it. In my search I ran across the Epox EP-BX3, and was impressed with the fact it had (a) 5 -PCI slots, and (b) 2 ISA slots. ISA slots, I discovered, were getting tough to find and I was loathe to give up the flexibility of having them. This board supports up to 768MB of memory, and also supports AGP graphics cards AT 1x AND 2x. The (2)onboard EIDE controllers support UltraDMA-33 drives, and are backward compatible to PIO modes 3 and 4.
This board supports Celeron® Processors from 333mhz to 500Mhz, and the Pentium® II and III processors
from 233Mhz to 800Mhz. (Depending on the Rev level of the board) Anything over 550Mhz may require a BIOS update. I have run a Celeron® 400 clocked at 500Mhz, a Pentium® II 450 clocked to 492, and a Pentium® III 600E and found this board to be both stable, and reliable. This board has a really neat feature that allows bus frequency changes via a BIOS setting. As far as I know this is the only way to overclock a Pentium® II or III class processor with any reliability.
I will not go further into the specifications in this review, as they can be obtained at the following URL:

You can get this Motherboard through Pricewatch for around $78. In Summary, I love this motherboard, and would buy another one in a minute if I needed another board. I would recommend the BX-3 for anyone that wants to have a rock solid ATX motherboard, especially any Techie out there who likes to overclock like I
do. :)
Thanks to all that read me, You ARE appreciated!
