Pros: Excellent printer, faxes, scans, copies, prints great photos, easy to use
Cons: Doesn't have flat bed scanner to copy books
The Bottom Line: The cost is great especially for all the functions you get (copy, fax, scan, print) and it is easy to use.

I don't know how I lived without this printer. I was hesitant to buy a multi-function printer but the prices dropped and I really wanted a printer that could fax and copy.
The printer is VERY easy to use. You can do everything either through the software or directly through the printer. Anytime I want to make a copy, you just load the original in the top and press copy and out it comes - color or black and white. You can also adjust the lightness and darkness, reduce & enlarge, etc. All the stuff you do with a real photo copier.
Faxing is easy. We configured it to pick up our phone when it does a double ring (our phone company gives us two phone numbers with different rings but the same phone line) and we automatically receive our faxes. To fax, just load original and enter the info either through the printer itself or through the software, press FAX and off it goes.
Scanning is just the same, the software is helpful in determining what type of document you want to scan - picture or OCR file. I just used the OCR (scan to a text file) feature for the first time and it worked great with no errors.
I also bought HP photo paper and am printing my own photo's. The HP image software allows you to print a page of wallet sizes or 4 prints per page too, something that is hard to find in other programs.
We also use it with our wireless system for our laptop. I know someone posted about a problem with Windows XP and maybe it works for us because it is through the wireless network but my laptop uses XP and I print just fine.
The paper holder holds a lot of paper and I am still on my first print cartridge and have printed REAMS of paper.
The only problem we had was the first printer we were sent couldn't fax, we tried everything. We were online with the support team a lot and they were great. Finally, they sent us a new printer (free of charge) and it worked fine. We had to send them the old printer but they paid shipping. It was easy to do - but I guess their fax part often needs replacement for some reason - now it works great.
