How I got started on Ebay
I have been a long time user of Ebay, this is truly in my opinion one of the coolest sites there is, you can find just about anything that you have ever dreamed about. The first time that I ever used this site was one day at the office my co-worker Bill Johnston told me about this site, because I had asked him if I could find this one type of Disco ball its called the Catrax, to my surprise he said did you try Ebay, I said no what is that (at this point I felt pretty stupid) well he told me go to www.ebay.com and then I said to him ok. So as soon as I went home I went to Ebay and then I searched for this type of Disco ball, and when I did it came up with 56 results however not all were the type of Disco ball that I was looking for only one, and then I bought at the same time with the buy it now option that they have. I waited for about five minutes, and the Ebay seller that lived in Mexico told me how I could get my disco ball and about a week later here comes my disco ball by UPS. Ever since then I have been hooked on Ebay both as a user and seller.
How to join Ebay
In my opinion it is extremely easy to join Ebay all you need to join is a email address which is not free or a credit card number, the only reason that they do this is to protect people that use Ebay, so is someone is running a scam that they can get caught with rather ease. So after you fill out some question like the basic like you name, and where you live. Then you will have to wait about one minute, and then you check your email to verify that this is really your true email address, and then there is a link on that email that you click and then you became an Ebay user. It is really that easy to join.
How do you became a Ebay seller
To be an Ebay seller is extremely easy all you have to do is have a valid Ebay user ID, and then you are free to sell whatever you want to the world. There are some charges to sell your stuff on Ebay they are as follows.
Opening Value or Reserve Price Insertion Fee
$0.01 - $9.99 $0.25
$10.00 - $24.99 $0.50
$25.00 - $49.99 $1.00
$50.00 and up $2.00
Closing Value Final Value Fee
$0 - $25 5.0% of the closing value
$25 - $1,000 5.0% of the initial $25 ($1.25), plus 2.5% of the remaining closing value balance.
Over $1,000 5.0% of the initial $25 ($1.25), plus 2.5% of the initial $25-$1000 ($24.38), plus 1.25% of the remaining closing value balance
So keep these in mind when you sell anything on Ebay.
Ebay ratings
Ebay has its own rating system which rates users, and this shows what kind of seller he is, there are amount of positive and negative feedbacks, the more positive feedbacks the person has the better he is. There is also where a buyer or user can leave comments about the user. There is also something that is called as non payer, as you can guess from this name this is a person how does not pay when he wins a bid, Ebay give you a warning the first time, second time suspends for a month third for life.
In conclusion
I love this site and I feel that this is the best symbol of the web, because it brings the world together, I would highly recommend this any person. However like all things on the web you need to understand that it is not complete safe and does have its downfalls such as there is no way that you can return anything that you buy from Ebay, its not like your local Wal-Mart that if you don’t like something that you just take it back for another thing or get your money back.
