I asked for the Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox for Christmas last year, I wanted the 6 gigabyte version but instead I received the 30 gigabyte one. I was not complaining. I actually did some research myself and told my boyfriend to get exactly this brand. I found at the time it had the most options and space for the money. Included
It came with an AC adapter, 2 sets of rechargable batteries, headphones, and a carrying case.
How much is 30 Gigabytes (gigs)?
The space on the Nomad Jukebox was 30 gigabytes, that is huge! A comparison for size is my personal computer. I have 6 gigs on my computer of just songs!!! (songs that are in the MP3 format). That equals out to about 1200 songs! So to sum it up, 30 gigs is like having approximately 6000 songs all on one little electronic gadget! I will never fill it up. Anyways, now that you know the available space is basically infinite, let me tell you some other benefits of this product.
Cool things it does...
I can hook it up to my stereo receiver and listen to it on my huge speakers in my living room, all with a simple little attachable cord (forgive me because I forgot what it is and if it came with it or not).
I can also use it as a walkman by hooking up headphones, they definitely came with it, I remember this because these headphones sit on the back of your head instead of on top...making it very comfortable, I couldn't even figure them out the first time I tried them on!
I can play in in my car with the optional car adapter (not included, but only an additional $20). You can use this feature by just plugging it into your car cassette deck, it is so easy!
I can even make a mini system in my bathroom for when I take a shower by using small computer speakers.
How do I get songs on it?
It downloads songs right from your computer hard drive and is very quick with your USB connection. You can organize your files on the computer or the actual MP3 Player and even make "Play Lists", which are lists of music you create to listen to, kind of like a personally created CD.
Things that aren't so great...
A couple things that aren't so great though, are that it is a bit heavy if you want to go jogging or something and has no attachable clip, and one thing I really hate is that I cannot search for songs by song title, maybe I need to upgrade it's software...I am not even sure if that is possible but I need to find out since it is highly annoying. Also it seems the batteries don't last very long, but I may not be charging them properly.
Overall this product is great...there is no more need to lug around CD's or worry about getting them scratched, this is a lifetime music collection right at your fingertips!
