I've tried the CD burning capability (Reply to this comment)

built into XP a little. Supposedly MS bought this "technology" from Roxio. It won't do all the neat things Easy CD Creator or Nero will do, but you should be able to burn data and music cdr's, and write and erase cdrw's. Have you not tried it, or does it not work, or is it missing from your system? Its built into explorer, you write to cd's kind of like you save to a directory, only when you do this, XP launches a burn window.
