Pros: Cool design, good display, durable keypad, dictaphone,
Cons: Poor battery, complicated menu, even more complicated phonebook, user unfriendly handsfree and mp3 player
The Bottom Line: I would not buy this phone ever again! It lacks some of the basic functions a phone of this price should have (GPRS, screensavers, e-mail client, EMS, etc.)

| dostanet's Full Review: Siemens SL45 |
I have been using Siemens SL45 for a month now, and I have found it to be one of the most complicated and user unfriendly phones you could think of. The MultiMedia Card system (MMC) makes this a very complicated handset to use. The phone has three addressbooks: phone, MMC and the SIM card itself, and you never know where your numbers are saved and are being held.
If you memorise phones, e-mail and postal addresses in the phone's memory, and then want to write an SMS message to a person from the phonebook, it can take you a while to find their mobile number again as the phone first suggests e-mail, then postal address, only to finally offer you phone numbers from the phonebook.
Keeping your display backlight switched on for just 30 seconds cuts down your phone's standby time by 30 minutes (times quoted in the manual)! This is definitely unacceptable for the price tag this phone has.
Writing SMS and just navigating through the menu can sometimes be a nightmare since the navigation keys can be slow to respond at times.
From my experience, I see this phone as just a good MP3 player and a dictaphone, not much use otherwise.
