The Bottom Line: An excellent choice if not the best possible pro-consumer choice of camcorders. A wise investment but beware of Sony's 90 Day Warranty.

Sony's DCR-PC120 is the exact same camcorder as Sony's DCR-PC115 Camcorder but minus Sony's 'BLUETOOTH' features (Bluetooth provides you with the ability to send emails with picture attachments to friends and family via a wireless mode). It's also ALMOST the same camcorder as Sony's DCR-PC110 and Sony's DCR-PC100.
The DCR-PC120 and DCR-PC115 will provide you with near professional quality video. Amazing rich, vibrant colors and images are caught with features that include NIGHTSHOT, STEADYSHOT, CARL ZEISS LENS and an added 1.5 Megapixel Digital Still Camera as part of the unit. Instead of listing everything here, visit Sony's website (WWW.SONY.COM) for complete specs as I suspect you're reading this because you already really want this camcorder.
The $1500 to $2000 price tag is a hefty amount to pay. But expect that investment to capture years or decades of family, friends and vacations and very fond memories. That invested amount will be minimal for what you're getting back years from now and a very wise investment indeed.
The provided software is above-average and Sony includes an excellent user manual, connection cords and one of the very best long-lasting camcorder batteries in existence today (InfoLithium). Now add the benefit of it being Made In Japan for ultra-quality.
Where does this excellent Sony product fail? In a very sub-standard warranty of 90 days labor and 1 year parts... 90 days labor is almost insulting and it reflects Sony's greed in just about everything they do (and they can and do get away with it).
So, despite this 90 day warranty, be sure to purchase this with an extended warranty. Be extra sure to purchase this from a reputable source such as Circuit City, Best Buy or The Good Guys. AVOID online merchants who are NOT authorized Sony merchants! Your warranty will be void and even if you purchased an extended warranty, chances are better than average that this online merchant may not exist when you need service. Buy from a reputable store to protect your investment and have a contact phone and address.
The DCR-PC120 is my 4th Sony camcorder. Each one has been exceptional and I have used them all in the worst of weather or conditions. I have dropped them, abused them and made each camera collect a lifetime of memories for my life and you'll love your purchase of Sony's DCR-PC120 as it captures all that is around you.
A wise choice for the novice or expert! Promise...
