Do you ever fall in love with products? I do, I know, I need to get out more!
I have always seen the ads on t.v about Swiffer this and Swiffer that. We live in a pretty large home, 4300 sq. ft., most of which is tile flooring. We also have animals, so mopping on a weekly basis is almost impossible for me. We also have 2 children 6 months and almost 5 years. I could probably play connect the dots on our tile with the spills of popsicle, juice, and other various food and drink. Mopping is such a chore for me, I don't normally have time. Our tile is very light, so it shows up everything and the grout is dark, so it too shows up everything!
While browsing at Wal*Mart, I came upon the Swiffer WetJet. I have been eyeing it for awhile, but haven't heard from anyone on it's use. My motto is efficiency! It was about $24.00 and some odd cents. I bought it and on the way home, dreamed of clean sparkling tile floors in an instant!
Returned home, opened the box and pulled out 3 pieces. It was so easy to assemble. You have the handle, which has the button on it to activate the spray. You have the pole in the middle which gives you it's length. You have the device head at the bottom which the pad actually attaches to. You line up the red arrows and every segment snaps together into place. It comes with 4 non-rechargeable batteries, a cartridge of Swiffer Wet Jet cleaning solution and a box of the WetJet cleaning pads. It took me a total of probably 5 minutes to get everything together. Once you have placed the batteries, close the compartment until you hear it snap. Make sure it is tight. Next you insert the cleaning solution. There is a red arrow printed on the purple cartridge label, you put the arrow against the device pole and push the cartridge into place. You will hear it snap into it's proper position. Do not remove the cap on the solution, leave it on. The pad for the WetJet reminded me a little of a diaper! In a way it makes me wonder if it is environmentally safe, I will check up on this!
To place the pad, place the pad onto the floor with the printed side facing up and you place the device head on top of the pad. On the device head, it is a type of velcro material that makes it easy to stick. You can also hold the head of the device in one hand and the pad in the other and press the pad and device head together.
Using the WetJet was soooooooo easy. Now, I emphasize, the Swiffer WetJet is not a deep cleaning way to clean your tile, wood, vinyl or marble floors. I will say, it is a good way to surface clean. I highly recommend that you vacuum or sweep any loose debris you have on your floor, this WetJet does NOT pick up loose particles! It has a low profile head and easily reaches into corners and under furniture. For me it was quick and easy. There was no stopping and wringing out my mop and changing a dirty bucket of water. I pressed the button and let is spray for about 4-5 seconds and with the mopping motion, away I went. I went around the house and sprayed any sticky areas first and let it set. It did a wonderful job! I will use it weekly! The only thing for me is we have the grout which is something that the WetJet cannot get down into, that's OK for quick jobs though. The solution also leaves a nice fresh scent throughout the house. It includes cleaning agents, solvents and perfumes.
So, let me sum this up for you.......it comes with 4 AA batteries, 1 bottle of cleaning solution and 1 box of the WetJet pads, which includes 6 in the box. The WetJet comes in 3 easily assembled pieces, snap, snap and you are done. It cost about $24.00 and to me it worth every penny. You can use if on wood or laminate floors, marble floors, stone tile, ceramic tile and vinyl. Do not use it on unfinished, oiled, or waxed wooden boards on non sealed tiles and carpeted floors. You can also purchase the wood cleaner on finished wood and laminate floors.
This has become a new member of my cleaning family! I'm very happy with the Swiffer WetJet and I think you will be too! Thanks for letting me share!!!
