I can't say enough bad things about Cingular's service in California.

1. It will work for a moment, then if you walk five feet away, the service will die. It's awful. I get anxious every time I have to use my phone. Most egregiously, it doesn't work in my neighborhood (Lower Haight).

2. Incoming calls frequently never make it to the phone or even to the phone's voicemail, with my friends complaining they get a "All Circuits are Busy" message.

3. Outgoing calls on a busy weekend night can take a few tries, again with a "All Circuits are Busy" message to greet you.

Sure, it's cheap, but what good is cheap if the phone doesn't even work properly? Caveat emptor.
